3 Years to Infinity
My intention with this exercise was to
- understand the life of Magicland, where she is now, and begin seeing into the future
- explore the ideas that will soon go into the portal where we explain the plan
- create a shared understanding within the team about the rules of the game we are playing
- create safety for the team to understand how Magicland would like to commit to each of us
As I reflect on the drawing, I see a potential sequence of evolution and creation.
Sequence of Evolution and Creation
- pause/create space to allow
- create the spiritual and physical container for the upcoming season
- hold space as active participants within the container we created
- rest. reflect. retrospective. integration.
- pause/create space
- create container
- hold space
- repeat…
I brought the drawing into my digital design tool, and transformed the handwritten ideas into a digital design. This design shows the first three years of Magicland.
3 Years to Infinity
The Sequence of Evolution provides a simple spiral/cycle for Magicland to become herself. Here are the first three years of her existence.
I propose that Magicland:
- commits to the current team members (see the sections in purple outline)
- create a finite arrangement for the current team to drop into (ie: “The current team is with us from today – July 2024.”)
- define finite arrangement in agreements with each team member
- build alignment on the Sequence of Evolution
- use Season One as an opportunity show what’s possible
Dreamweaving by D’Alonzo
Reflecting on this creative session, I see most of what came through was about a few of the profound moments of the human experience.
- Portals
- Reviews
- School
- Experiences
I did not explore the physical manifestations of Magicland in this exercise.
I started with my partner’s pregnancy – our child – and used her portal as the first step of the ‘life to death Magicland experience’.
Here are some of the main ideas discovered in the process of creating the drawing:
Portals
- We invite people into supportive structures for profound moments of the human experience.
- pregnancy: how can we co-design wraparound support for my pregnancy, and what does that look like?
- birth: how would I like to bring our child into the world?
- family: how would we like our family to be and feel?
- partnership: how would I like my partnership to be and feel?
- end of life: how would I like the end of my life to look and feel?
- death: how would I like to die?
- perimenopause: how would I like to be held through the transition into wise women?
- veterans: how would I like to heal and ground before I re-enter my family and society?
Reviews
- Wise Woman: “I decided to move to Magicland because of the support and magical experiences they have for women moving through perimenopause to menopause transition. I have transformed through the transition – mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually – into a place of empowerment, confidence, and wisdom. I highly recommend.”
- End-of-Life: “Instead of living my remaining years in a traditional elder care facility, I move to Magicland. I’m near the end of my life and I can easily say these last years have been among the best of my life. In fact, it’s possible that I may have extended my life because of the lifestyle at Magicland! Come visit…I’ll see you on the zip-lines!”
- Mother: “My partner and I decided to move to Magicland a few months before our baby was due. We wanted to be in Magicland for at least the first few years of the baby’s life. It was perfect! We loved spending time with the elders and the people at the end of their life. Great to bring everyone together in a unique way!”
- Veteran: “After coming home from active duty I was overwhelmed by “normal” everyday life. My friend recommended I live at Magicland for a few months to come back home to myself before I try to reintegrate into my family and friends. I took his advice, and I am incredibly grateful that I did. My wife visited me a few times during my three month stay at Magicland, we did workshops together, and by the time I went home my family life was already back in a solid place – we may be stronger now than ever!”
- Daniel: “I joined the team in March 2023, and they welcomed me with open arms. Ari, Ella, and Diego are good people. I felt called to created Magicland with them. In the last six months, we have made a lot of progress. I feel a knowing in my body that I would like a forever home at Magicland. It feels right to have roots that go deep here.”
Experiences
- Healing and evolution happens through experiences
- daily dance (to stay aligned)
- whisper Wednesdays (to explore new realities together)
- vision quest (to come home)
- therapy experiences (to heal)
- manifestation/creativity experiences (to create)
School
- learning happens everywhere (no solo desks or chairs, collaborative projects/learning, question everything about “school” as we know it)
- integrated throughout campus (self-directed vision quest, self-directed somatic practice)
- we show what’s possible to create with the raw materials available – lead by example – learn to use your hands to build the life you desire
- build muscles of vulnerability, sensing, intuition, empathy, compassion, imagination

Inventory
I mindmapped items i could see that are open from Magicland at-large. I created small cards with action items for each department. I’d like to walkthrough together on our next call. From here, open the dialogue around shares, lots, cofounders, etc.
Follow Up Email
After a person fills out the form on the home page, the form submission automatically triggers two emails: (1) a notification email is sent to us:
and (2) a thank you email is sent to the subscriber. Let’s play with the words and messages we can send people as they interact with the website.
These are examples of “transactional emails”. I set up a free transactional email account with Mailgun.com and integrated the email service with our website so that our website has the power to send emails. Now, anyone who fills out the form on the home page will receive an email from the website. We can continue to use this function in other ways moving forward. Reasons for using a transactional email service are for security and to improve the deliverability of the emails our website sends to people interacting with it. Ideally, fewer emails go to spam, and more emails land in the primary inbox folder.
Thank You Message
After a person fills out the form on the home page, they are immediately shown a small message that previously said, “Thank you. We will be in touch soon.” and now the message includes a link to view our Instagram.
The thinking behind this upgrade is so that after people submit the form, we give them another action to take by clicking the link to connect with us on Instagram.
Team Feed
The feed is on the page where you are reading these words right now. It’s where we all can read updates from one another. You are invited to post your daily/weekly updates to the feed to document our process and make it easier for the team (and the larger community) to fully understand what’s happening, what has happened, and what is intended to happen along the way.
Send an Email to Post to the Feed
When it feels right for you, simply write an email to this address:
zide967kano@post.wordpress.com
Write the title of your update as the subject line, and the content of your post as the email body. After you send the email, it will automatically post itself as an update on our feed: https://sagrada.app/xo
Email Addresses
Please let me know if you’d like an email address ie ‘ella@sagrada.app’. Please keep in mind, this is not a full email account. It is simply an email forwarding address. When someone sends an email to ‘ella@sagrada.app’, for example, the email automatically sends itself to any email address of our choice. In this example, we would likely forward all emails sent to ella@sagrada.app to ellabonar9@gmail.com
Day One
Welcome to Magicland. This is the update where we tell you about how, when, why we bought the land.
